do you recognise any of these names,

they are bookmakers signs from a previous generation

 timber cotton reels for drawer knobs,

french knitting, coat hooks........what else????

I suppose this looks a little like a pimple on a pumpkin,
but I love this colour green,
these timber cotton reels are so useful and interesting.
The empty reels make great knobs for doors or draws
and don't forget the traditional French Knitting!!

This wooden reel has on its label
'Machine Embroidery Number 30' and is 'ANCHOR' brand
with its beautiful soft vintage pink thread still wound around it.
